Lake County Community BBQ

The Beach and a BBQ, what a great way to spend a day!


The Lake County Visitors Bureau is excited to extend an invitation to the Lake County Community BBQ. An event to aid the Fairport Harbor Historical Society in its lighthouse restoration efforts as this iconic symbol of Lake County is one that we are familiar and needs repair. The event will be held on the lighthouse grounds and will offer live music, lawn games, raffles, a silent auction that will reflect Lake County’s finest, access to climb the 69 lighthouse stairs, and of course great food from J&J BBQ. Auction items include Captain tickets and other event tickets, overnight stays, wine dinners, and so much more! Everyone in Lake County (and beyond) are welcome and

encouraged to attend. So, spend a summer afternoon at the Fairport Harbor Beach then join everyone for great food and… a little fun! Tickets are only $25.00 for adults and $10 for children 4-12. Children under 3 are free. Present a copy of your paid receipt for entrance. Event access will not be granted without a paid receipt.

Parking is free If parking at the Fairport Harbor Beach (paid) parking lot, present your paid receipt to the parking attendant to have them mark the receipt. Be sure to bring this paid receipt to the event tent to receive your access ticket. Tickets are available online here.

Vintage Ohio

August 4 – 5


Colorful tents, rolling hills, picnic tables, and groves of tall oaks provide a tranquil setting for the Vintage Ohio Wine Festival, the most acclaimed summer wine and food festival between the Appalachians and Rockies.
Annually, over 30,000 wine and food lovers travel to the beautiful grounds of Lake Metroparks Farmpark in Kirtland, Ohio to taste exceptional regional wines, learn a little, sample an incredible range of fine cuisine and enjoy the area’s best musical talent.
Vintage is not just for wine fans –  Double Wing BreweryMaize Valley Brewery and Cellar Dweller will pour samples of local craft beers and offer them by the glass for “A Little Brew, Too.”
Friday night features a spectacular fireworks display. Whether one enjoys red, white, blush, dry, sweet or something in between, there will be an opportunity to find a favorite “Vintage Experience.” Enjoy plenty of scrumptious food, cooking school demonstrations, three stages of live music entertainment, artisans, and shopping.
Vintage Ohio is produced annually by the Ohio Wine Producers Association and represents close to 20 wineries from around the region. The festival will once again be held at Lake Metroparks Farmpark in Kirtland, Ohio.

Mentor CityFest

Mark your calendar for the biggest two-day event in northeast Ohio: Mentor CityFest! Held at the newly renovated Civic Center Park and Amphitheater, there are plenty of exciting features to this year’s festival. 

  • Rock out to a musical lineup including Armstrong Bearcat Band, Friday, 8 pm, country star John King, Saturday, 5 pm, and Dark Side of the Moon, Saturday, 7:30 pm
  • Watch or participate in the CityFest Parade, Saturday, 10 am
  • Help set the Guinness World Record for “Most Popsicles Eaten in 60 Seconds,” 1 pm Saturday – free popsicles to the first 5,000!
  • Be amazed at the magical talents of local star Rick Smith Jr, Friday, 7pm, Saturday, 4 pm
  • Compete in the Color Dash & Walk, 6 pm Saturday
