Making maple candy
I have three children and we are a budget conscious family, but we love to have fun! So, I have to say that the Lake Metro Farmpark has always proved a successful trip for us. One of our favorite events is the Maple Sugaring weekend! During these special weekends in March, the Farmpark shows visitors all about the maple syrup making process. It’s amazing to see how they use some of the trees located right there on the property. You can learn how the trees are tapped and what type of equipment is. When you’re done at the maple sugaring shack, your visit doesn’t have to be over. Head over to the Well Bred Shed to visit the animals and you might glimpse some new baby lambs! Then, if you’re hungry, you can grab a bite to eat at the J & J Café (great food and the price won’t put you in the poor house). Our favorite part of Maple Sugaring Weekend though, has to be tasting the maple sugar candy!
