Jim Ptacek, a Gallery One fixture for decades, will display a new selection of hand-signed Cleveland area landmarks priced from $18 this Saturday, December 8 – perfect time for last-minute holiday gifts!
Included in this special event will be his newly-released Christmas ornaments and rare collector’s images of the old Municipal Stadium that include actual pieces of bleacher seats. Ptacek’s 10:30 a.m. appearance will be celebrated with an informal bagel breakfast. Yum!
Ptacek’s works are unique collages of both the revered and the overlooked details of city life. Gone are the noises of the traffic and the bustle of the crowds. All that remain are textured images, graceful lines and the majesty of sophisticated architecture. A native Clevelander, Ptacek graduated from the Cooper School of Art, majoring in Architectural Illustration. His early experiments with photography and silkscreen printing have been refined through the years, and his appreciative collectors now range throughout the country. His work has been reproduced as commemorative posters, calendars, silkscreen prints and greeting cards. His images now include the cities of Chicago, Detroit, Orlando, Mobile and New Orleans among others.
Join Gallery One in celebrating this great Cleveland artist and get yourself a piece of history this Christmas! Great for Browns fans and collectors!
In addition, do you enjoy this type of shopping and want to support Lake Erie artists? Jim Ptacek is part of Lake Erie Artists, a collection of Cleveland-area artists located out of Shaker Heights. They started out in 2003 as a small co-op of artists that joined together to offset the cost of the many summer art shows around the region. Then, in the late fall of 2005, they were offered a temporary home for the holidays at Tower City in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. Through the years, they have continued to grow with new and bigger events, more artists, and more varieties of media. They represent a wide range of artistic ability available in our wonderful city on the shores of Lake Erie. They are now located in historic Shaker Square in Cleveland near the border of Cleveland Heights and Shaker Heights.
