There’s a motorcoach “Die Laughing” package deal being offered in Lake County that just may keep you laughing until you drop. Dead.
The package has three sections, really, plus dinner and lodging. First is a Sunday matinee at Fine Arts Association in Willoughby for the Tony-nominated play “Deathtrap,” which holds the record for the longest-running comic thriller on Broadway. Then dinner at the Hometown Buffet – nothing spooky there, we hope.
Second, you’ll be taken to a Lantern Paranormal Tour at the Lake County History Center in Painesville.
We bet they’ll unearth plenty of ghosts at the History Center. It’s housed in one of the most haunted of places, the former Lake County Poor House. If you can’t handle the stairs at the History Center, they are offering an alternative Magical Mystery Tour, featuring turn of the century music boxes and the miniature World of Doris Martin.
It’s all bundled – shall we say shrouded? – with the third part of this package, a narrated bus tour on local myths, legends, folklore and cemetery jokes that takes you from the theater to the History Center to a stay at a first class or deluxe hotel, which we’re pretty sure has been swept clean of any spooky stuff. And the whole package costs just $99 to $115 (single supplement $30-$40).
