Lee Bush and Friends Perform Intimate Jazz at Fine Arts Coffeehouse
The Fine Arts Association’s 2011-2012 Coffeehouse Concert Series opens with Lee Bush & Friends this Saturday, November 12, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Jazz guitarist Lee Bush performs with Alan Petersen on the vibraphone and Dan Kalosky on the acoustic base in The Nice Jazz Trio. Pianist Brooke Hopkins and the addition of percussion from The Nice Jazz Quintet who will also perform. Selections from the Great American Songbook (1912-1955) such as “Satin Doll,” “All of Me” and “Night and Day” comprise the evening’s repertoire.
The Coffeehouse is free and open to the public and the atmosphere is casual and fun. Refreshments will be provided by Bear Creek Coffee will be available for purchase. The “coffeehouse” is in the Main Gallery at The Fine Arts Association.
Annual Holiday Arts & Crafts Show at The Fine Arts Association
The Fine Arts Association’s Annual Holiday Arts & Craft Sale will be sure to get anyone in the holiday shopping mood this Saturday, November 12, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Handmade items in all price ranges will be available for purchase including pottery, wooden toys and ornaments, homemade jam, cloth bags, beaded jewelry, wreaths, domino jewelry, watercolors, painted chairs, hair accessories, tutus, princess wands and greeting cards.
An art activity will be offered by Lake County Early Childhood PTA to keep kiddos occupied while you shop during the early hours of the sale. Homemade baked goods provided by members of the Fine Arts’ Dance Factory Ensembles will also available for sale from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. with proceeds benefiting both the dance ensembles and the United Way of Lake County. Adding to the festive atmosphere, live music will be performed by Fine Arts students from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
Admission to the show is FREE and it wil be location in the Main Gallery.
